'"OLD AGE, A LUXURY DENIED BY MANY!" Happy to celebrate another birthday when I think of it like that.

My birthday month has finally come to an end. It was the warmest Oct in history in Utah and we ate vegetables from our garden all month.
We went to Wendover Fri night with Marsha & Gary and watched Air Supply. They're an 80's band (and almost in their 80's) but they were really good. We had 3rd row seats and the venue was really nice. We stayed up until 3AM and then met Marta & Terry for breakfast at 9AM. After breakfast we headed to Boo's last football game of the season in W. Jordan followed by lunch. It was
Shelby's 1st time at a McDonald's and of course she loved it.
Boo has asked me ever since his first game if I would make him a football DVD of all his games. So since it was his last game he was ready to start it TODAY. We explained he could come home with us but we HAD to have a NAP first. So while we were napping he went through all the videos and numbered the ones he wanted in his DVD. I was impressed and we both enjoyed working on it. I told him it would take about a month to make it.  The next morning as soon as he woke up,  he was texting asking if he could come work on it some more. So we worked on it all day and got finished. A couple cute things he said were" Mimi, now I know why you make so many videos. This is so fun." and  "Mimi I get all tingly when I watch my video".  I told him that was called goose bumps. So we got it finished and on facebook and youtube and he was a happy little guy.
Wendell & Carole came in the afternoon and spent the night. We went to La Fountain and Wendell measured for our new hardwood floors. So excited for them.
Boo decorated her pants and she's cheering him on.

They LOVE their Papa.

These kids follow Shelby everywhere she goes. She is the star of the sidelines.

Air Supply sang lots of  love songs.

So it was slow at work and I said we'll just do a drive by. But we ended up stopping and speed walking by all the little shops. Then to drop her off at the airport by 10.  About two I closed my office door and laid by head down on my desk for 15 min to make it thru the rest of the day.

It was a Mimi~Mimi Day. Girlfriends and also getting to see Shelby & Boo.

My Halloween Tea Table.

Carole spent the night and I had a Halloween Tea with her, Marsha and Marianne. Felt pretty good about it until we stopped by Annee's house to see the new cottage her husband built and she had made homemade everything: chips, artichoke dips, cookies and lavender (from her garden) lemonade drinks for us. For my tea I had just ran to the grocery store and bought pastries. I really wanted to cook something but decided to let the professionals handle it. In the afternoon Carole and I ran to an antique shop in Tooele and I told her "I need water!!! I have had so much sugar today!"  Such a fun day.

Shelby hung out while her mom and Boo went to football practice. She is walking really good and opened every cabinet in my kitchen to look inside.
She fell asleep on Papa and we moved her to the Minky covered couch.

Kinzi Quote of the Day: Mimi, will you come spend the night and we'll move your bed upstairs and have a big sleepover and pretend it's a bounce house and jump all over.....

Broncos vs the Radiators

Killian knows his daddy is the biggest Bronco Fan and he was teasing him saying he liked the Cowboys better than the Broncos and loved hearing Clay squeal. Then he told him Actually I think I like The Radiators. (Raiders)  That got his full attention!

What no mimi wants to see on the football field, Boo laying in the middle of that. Got a helmet in his back when tackled. One of the moms later told Chels "the moms aren't supposed to go on the field" to which Chels & I responded. "Too Bad!"
Cheering for Boo before he got hurt.   Go Go Boo Boo.

Shelby gets to wear the hand me down puppy suit this year that Boo & K have previously worn.

"That's me in the puppy suit?" Loving the pictures of herself on Chels' phone.
Snuggled up with Mimi and minky.

Twilight Zone in the airport

Heading home from our trip and the airport was SO Busy. Checking in at SW the line was so long. We got pre ck thru security and that line was so long. We got to Concourse A and the voice and sign on the train said we were in Concourse C. Everyone is confused and getting off and Tom and I are saying NO, it's wrong.   We get to Concourse C and I look at my trusty watch I carry in my backpack only for when we travel and I told Tom we got through faster than I thought and we have time to get a bite to eat. So we grabbed something and went to our gate and still had 45 min before take off but there were no passengers. Why did they board so early??? So we rushed on the plane and sat down in the first seats we found empty as the stewardess is making announcements and saying we'll be taking off in 12 min. I asked the lady next to me "Is this the SLC plane that leaves at 6:50?" She put her hand on my arm and said "It's OK dear, it's only a little over an hour flight, it will be fine". What is going on? They're not allowed to leave early. So I grabbed my phone and looked at the time. I guess my "trusty" watch needs a new battery. It was about 30 min slow. There for a min I felt like I was in a twilight zone. Note to self; double and triple check times when it comes to airplanes leaving.

Mapleton's Class Reunion

We rushed back from KS in time to go to Mapleton's all school reunion. A couple very important things I learned there.
#1. A girl named Rhonda came up to me and said "Do you remember me? We worked together at Arby's and when you told me you were dating Tom McCarty I told you  Really? Why?" I had totally forgot that until now, but I remember at the time thinking she's just jealous. I informed cute little Rhonda that he has been a great husband, very easy to live with and has provided very well thank you.  I can't believe she remembered that after 40 yrs.  So glad I didn't listen to her.
#2  The next girl that approached us was a gal named Cindy. She had one eye. She said "TOM MCCARTY, do you remember me from 3rd grade? You got in so much trouble but you always stuck up for me when people picked on me. I have never forgot you."  What a great way to be remembered, so proud of him. He has always been kind to everyone.
#3  Tom's family lived on a farm when he was growing up. His Dad was raising greyhounds. Probably one of the least expensive homes in the area. At least 5 people came up and told him "You lived in the best place. We could fish and run around and had so much fun!"  So a price of your home is not important to enjoy life.
#4  Several people asked about Dewayne and called him his nickname Inky. So nice to be around people that remember him.
#5 and the thing reminisced about the most was playing football when they were about Gavin's age thru high school. I guess maybe football is a good thing to have in your life.
All in all in was a great night. Lots of familiar faces and memories. And since I missed mine in Aug this was the next best thing.
