Undercover Cop in Family

Very seriously
Boo: "Most people don't know I'm an undercover cop!"
Mi: "I didn't know you were an undercover cop!"
Boo: "Oh, I probably shouldn't have told you"

Mimi Day 022311

I asked Boo what he wanted to do today and he said "Go to the park and the lake is free (no ice) so can I fish?" So Papa set him up with a hot dog & a pole, but he didn't catch anything in the first 10 min so we decided an indoor event may be warmer and we headed to SLC to the Childrens Museum. He loved the helicopter and being an aircraft controller and talking to the pilots like Uncle Clay the best. And he kept calling the Children's Museum The Children's Justice Center.
We did manage to make it to the park for a little bit before we froze and headed home.
Here's our little dare devil. He wanted to go down the hills so bad, but was a little reluctant.

MImi Day 021611

A very quiet Mimi Day compared to last week.  Boo has been sick so we just hung out and read books and watched TV. When we were laying down reading books he had his little hand on my cheek and was staring in my eyes, then examining my face, and then he said "Mimi, Why is your skin so wraggled?"  I told him because I was old and he said "My mom and dads skin isn't wraggled."  Guess it's time to see the dermatologist and get me some Botox.  I told Chels his word "wraggled" sounds like a combination of wrinkled and ragged. Oh dear....

Our Norman Rockwell picture: Killian with Papa in his robe, his mama, Great Gpa Bud, Great Gma Frances'  cinnamon rolls, and our President on TV in the background. I think K and Papa are discussing politics and  I think Gpa Bud was saying "Something was wrong with that cinnamon roll, I think I need to eat another one!"

Killians new favorite book at Mimi's house along with his new matchbox truck.
Like Father, Like Son, watching the TV.

K loves his daddy!

SATURDAY. Time to go home already....A good time was had by all!

a kiss for luck and they're on the way with the sock monkey Killians great-great Gma made 30 yrs ago.

Thursday 021011

Today Killian had an appt with Dr Lloyd, a neurologist. This is the waiting room. Clay & Tara really liked the Dr. His 15 yr old daughter has cerebral palsy and he was really knowledgeable. Tara said he answered more questions in one visit than she's gotten in two years from other Doctors. Mom and Dad drove in this afternoon also.

Mimi Week 02-09-2011

Life is Good and it was a Great Mimi Day. Clay, Tara & Killian flew in Tues at 2:30 and we had a pajama party that night. The "kids" played Wii and laughed & played.
When we were laying down Gavin asked me "Mimi, Do sometimes your hands just end up in your pants? I said "No, do yours?" and he said "They just did". Tom told him that was a BOY thing.

Wed morning we got up early and drove to Sandy, UT to the aquarium. We checked the address, the cost, everything except the time it opened. Seriously 11:00?? But it worked out OK as Killian got to "march" until it opened. His favorite besides marching all over the aquarium was the penguins.

We went home and played and sang.

And Killian was so sad when Gavin left, this is what he looked like and he was saying "Boo Boo".

So we had storytime in Mimi & Papas room.

And Killian fell asleep & spent the whole night there. Did I mention Life is Good?

Playing Army Guys

Boo wanted to bring all his army guys over to play. He had them all seperated into differn't colors and kinds. I helped him set them all up on the table. He got the big car and 75% of the army guys on his side along with the American flag that he recited the Pledge of Allegiance when he set it up. So he started playing and I knocked over a couple of his guys and he said "That's not how you play! I just get to knock you over." So I was a good Mimi and just watched him knock over all my guys. It's not my favorite game, but it was fun to watch him. Then I grabbed my camera, my favorite game. ha

Boo Bits and Killian Quips 3

Yesterday Boo and I were watching an animated kids show Alpha & Omega and 3 grizzlies were chasing a wolf who was messing with their baby bear. Boo asked why there was 3 bears and who were they. I said maybe the Momma and Daddy and Grandma. He said "Maybe it's the X-Husband".  To much TV?
On the sweeter side he loves to intertwine his fingers with mine and hold my hand when we're watching movies and he called Tom last week and said "Tell Mimi I love her".

Killian is getting ready to come to UT and when he woke up from his nap he told Tara "I take two (matchbox)  cars on the airplane to Mimi's? "   He called me yesterday to tell me "Thank You Mimi"  for his Valentine and when I was talking to Tara he crawled up on the couch and he said " I so Tall!"
Then when Tara was taking him for a sleigh ride around the yard he rolled over in the snow and told her "Snow Angel".  I guess he saw this on TV also.  Counting the hours now until we see him.

SOLD*SOLD*SOLD

Last week Tom and I were in our pajamas and someone knocked at our door. It was Gay from the "Hope House" and she was delivering a giant basket
of champagne, a movie, popcorn, beef jerky, candy, etc with a thank you note. She told Tom "We're really not bad people!!!" ha
Only my husband can kick someone out of their house, sell it back to them  at a profit, and get thanked for it. This story is definately one for the records.
Tom told me it's called "Karma" and it all worked out because he was nice to them, even when they didn't deserve it. Not like we didn't work for it and lay awake nights about it.
Here's a quick recap. Oct 7th Tom bought the house on the county courthouse steps because they hadn't made a payment in 18 months. He hadn't even seen inside, but knew it was a great location. The next day he went to tell them he bought it and they needed to get out. She told him "Our house is not for sale!"  He finally convinced her we now own it and we will give them until the end of Oct to move out. She called and said her son in law died and her husband had a heart attack, could we give them a little more time. Tom gave another week, but went thru the legal system and gave them an eviction. They still wouldn't move out. We filed in court to get them out and she appealed it. We went to court and she never showed up. The judge ordered them out Dec. 3rd. She called crying again and asked to meet us at 7am on Dec. 3rd. We agreed, got up early, and no one answered the door. Tom just knew they were dead so he went to the sheriffs and told them the story and convinced them to come with him in the house. No one was there except the dog. Tom called her, the sheriff called her, & Tom finally left a message "I need to know what to do with your dog!!". Her boss called back saying they'd had such tragedy hit them could we give them one more week? We agreed as long as they reimbursed us for all our legal fees as we were leaving for vacation the next day for a week. That afternoon as we're getting all the last minute things finished so we can leave town her attorney calls. I happened to be in Toms office. He started out nice asking where we were going, etc then turned into an ass saying Tom was so heartless for evicting someone and kicking them out right before the holidays and asked if they could stay until after the holidays or they were going to sue us. Tom reminded him "It is our house, we've gone to court, we've paid their mortgage for almost two month and they need to get out". The lawyer said "Well they may not win, but it will still cost you a bundle to fight it and her boss has deep pockets."  Pissed us off we looked at each other, called his bluff, and told him where to go. Went to the house, Tom had a locksmith change the locks and locked them out and all their posessions inside. We then went home, packed our flip flops and got ready for vacation. Our vacation was wonderful,  but a lot of it was spent talking on the phone and dealing with it and thinking about it.  So the Monday we got home one of the many, many messages on Toms phone was the husbands 86 yr old Dad asking for a meeting with Tom. He and his son showed up in Toms office. Tom asked the husband how he was feeling since his heart attack. SURPRISE, he hadn't had a heart attack.  Seems Gay has a mental problem and they have plenty of money. The husband said he didn't have a clue why she hadn't made the payments. So they wrote up an offer for the parents to buy the house back from us. We decided they could get any of their stuff (including their son in laws ashes, which Tom told her we'd been keeping warm for them), but they couldn't move back in until it was closed.  So to end the story, his parents bought the house back for them, they moved back in which was easy since all their stuff was still there. His parents were so nice and so appreciative even though his mom did say she'd love to hang a daughter in law out a window on a short rope. So we've closed on the house, made enough money to re-do our vacation and hopefully take the kids this time.  We had joked about putting a bottle of champagne & a Welcome Home sign on the kitchen counter, but decided against it. After getting the basket from them I wish we would have. So that's our day. Can't wait until the next house and the stories we'll have to tell.
