2015 was a good year. We had some nice trips and lots of fun times.
The last day of 2015 summed up a lot of it.
1. Went to work 1/2 a day~ thankful for a good job.
2. Went shopping to Kohl and NPS~thankful for fun shopping days and bargains and money to do it.
3. Nap~yes needed this to make it up until midnight~thankful for my comfy, warm bed and house and who I share it with.
4. Dinner with friends~so thankful for friends who call and remember us and want us to hang out with them.
4. Stop and see Boo, Shelby & Chels and talked to Clay, Tara, Killian, Kinzi & Liam~thankful for kids and grandkids and family.
5. Party at neighbors~thankful for good neighbors who help us anytime we ask and who made us laugh so hard playing Cards for Humanity that my stomach hurt.
May 2016 be as good.

christmas week end

Boo has been asking if we could go see the movie Daddy's Home so we thought it was a good day after Christmas thing to do.  He and his step brother Carson got new phones for Christmas so now they can communicate and they decided they wanted to go to a Kendama Store to spend their Christmas money & Mimi & Papa could take them when we went to the movies. So we agreed and drove 40 extra miles to get Carson at his Dad's and 80 miles round trip to go to the Kendama Store. They spent their money, we went to the movies, I even got a little shopping in. We went to dinner and they decided they wanted to spend the night together. They text and called their moms and their dads, multiple times (like over and over and over) . They whined, they got rejected, they text. All I can say is a really wonderful day turned into a very frustrating ride home listening to them trying to get their way and failing, feeling bad for them and what they have to go through and appreciating dropping them off and going home alone. One more reason it may not be a great idea for nine year olds to have cell phones. And one more reason I appreciate being the Mimi, not the Momma.

and one more reason I'm happy we have one years olds.

christmas day pictures

Miss Shelby got a new car seat. I think she liked it. She was really impressed that it had a cup holder.
She even liked the box that it came in.

Santa and his helper showed up.

Shelby wasn't to sure about them at first.

But warmed up pretty fast.

She really liked his bell.

and his helper.

Shelby looking at Chels like Do you know Santa mom?

Then Santa took off his wig.

and Mimi put on the hat.

and she thought it was so funny.

All done.
Loved gmas turtles.

We made Boo work for this present:
He had a wrapped present under the tree with clue #1. Then wrapped presents at all the other clues.
1. Don't you worry, don't you fear. This is not your gift this year.
Santa's white beard shows us he's pretty old.
Your next clue can be found where we keep the food cold.
2.  Diddley Doo,  Diddle Dee,  The next clue is , where you go ____
(boys always love bathroom humor)
3. This hunt I hope you're lovin...now find your next clue. It's right in the ________________.
4. You're halfway there, I'm not telling a lie.  Go to the place where your clothes become dry.
5. Shampoo and soap make you squeaky clean, look inside here for your next clue to be seen.
6. Your patience may be starting to lag. Now go look where you'd find a trash bag.

Tom and I had to work really hard to do this. Which present goes where that says where the next clue is....I know it doesn't sound that hard. But it took some concentration/organization and we pulled it off. Except the last clue. Boo had no idea where we keep our trash bags. But now he does!

Story time before going home to bed. A good day was had by all.

Mimi Day

I hadn't seen Boo or Shelby in two weeks so I was ready for a Mimi Day. Boo had his first basketball game the night before and he did awesome. After he came and gave me a hug and he smelled so good. Flash back from junior high and the roller skating rink. I guess it was his musk deodorant. He asked if he could go home with us and as we were walking to the car he asked me "Mimi, will you please sit in the backseat with me?"  Tom and I laughed. Guess he missed me. He's somewhere between musk cologne and still loving his mimi. I'll just enjoy it as long as I can.

wed

Our morning started about 6am on the balcony  looking at black clouds moving our way
they miraculously moved to the north and missed us.
We went on our morning walk to the far point. Tom swears it was 6 miles (maybe 5). We finally found a few seashells there. After that we needed breakfast and a long nap.  Then pool time where the people watching is incredible. I brought 2 books and haven't opened one. we met holly st. George celebrating her 40th birthday and shooting  everyone with her squirt guns including us that were close by. She said she was in the military and ready to bomb whoever needed it. Scary.  Her gay girlfriend got annoyed and left. Then we met the cutest couple from England in there early 30s sitting next to us all day and visited with them for a long time. World peace in the making....and the guy with the body and the orange neon spandex who Mike told he thought he'd retire and become a porn star down here and the guy told Mike men porno stars don't make any money but girls make bank and started quoting the pay scale.  As he and his girlfriend left the pool area he hugged all the employees and waved to everyone around the pool like they were royalty.  Quite an exit.
Couples massages at 6. So relaxed heading to bed early again.  Another good day. Our week almost over.
Room Service for Breakfast. Yes Please.

Isle of mujeras . ferry broke down. Engine went out as we were leaving dock. Turned around and waited for a new one. Golf carts. Hardly any seashells. Playa Norte beach. One of travel channels top 10 beaches n the world. Italian rest for dinner. Double desserts (tiramasu)  by mistake. Egos bar but with no nap- we were in bed by 10. (8 our time)
