Cabo

Sat Oct. 22, 2016
Short 3 hour flight from SLC to CABO. We liked this. The customs line was SO LONG. I knew Mike & Lana were getting in about the same time from DEN but flying on another airline and going to a different terminal. Then half way through I heard someone holler my name and there they were. About 20 people behind us. So we got to share a van to our resorts. After checking in, us at Playa Grande and them next door at the Grand Solmar we went to check out their place. We ended up having a nice, (but expensive) dinner at La Roca at their resort overlooking the beach & ocean.
Sun: Oct. 23, 2016  Tom and I got up for a sunrise walk. Yep the beach is still hard to walk on in Cabo. And this part of the ocean was raging. We had a guard on the beach tell us we shouldn't even be walking on it as they've lost 30 people last year. Hard to believe. But maybe.... The guys went to Wal mart for food as we all have kitchens. Looking back with the $35.00 taxi ride next time we'll just get snacks at the resort market. We had pool time all afternoon and walked to Soloman's on the marina for dinner. Had the best coconut shrimp with baked apples. After we walked to Senior Sweets in the mall for ice cream. We laughed how we used to go for after dinner drinks and now it's sweets.
Mon: Oct 24, 2016 Tom got up at 5:30 to go fishing with Mike, Kirk & Holly and I went back to bed. I heard my text and ignored it. When I got up there was a picture of a 7ft Marlin Tom caught. It was about 110 lbs. I told him Dewayne was with him this morning as he had caught one years ago and had it mounted.
Tom only took about 5 large steaks so Brenda & Tere ran to Wal Mart and got potatoes & corn & salad & a delicious 3 cream birthday cake and made a wonderful dinner in their Presidential Suite. The Bronco game was also on so we watched it there. It was another pool day for me.
Tues: Oct. 25, 2016 Happy Birthday Day. We went to a time share presentation with everyone as we got a free couples massage. Note to Self: NOT WORTH IT. They said they were low pressure. Yes until the 6th guy. I finally told him I agreed to 90 min, presentation, we've been here 2 hrs & I'm leaving. He told me to sit down very gruffly. Holly told him BE nice it's her birthday. We hung out at the pool all day and went to Mora's for dinner. The owner greeted us & we had lobster & shrimp for $16.95. Brenda got me a banner saying it was my birthday and I got lots of attention. All the mexicans told me Congratulations and I got lots of hugs & kisses. The guys in Mora's made me get up and dance with them & the whole restaurant sang & gave me shots. The 3rd one I heard Tom say "Oh shit".  They were mostly 7 up and fizzed. We ended up at Dairy Queen for dessert. Some little mexican girls came in asking us to buy little trinkets from them. Tere (who speaks Spanish) told them no but she'd buy them ice cream. As they were eating their little brothers came in with the saddest faces. So Tom told them, come on I'll get you some also. They were happy.
Wed: Oct. 26, 2016 Another fishing day for Tom, Mike & Kirk. Holly stayed behind. We thought Kirk would as he got really sick on Mon. But he was a trooper. They caught nothing. I slept in until 9. Went to the stretching class by the beach. Then Lana, Holly & I had an 80 min massage that included hot oils & hot rocks and a 30 min facial at the spa. We went to the Beach Party & dinner at our resort in the evening. It was hilarious. We laughed so hard. Tere & Larry were called up to do the balloon popping game. They have been married for 40 yrs and when the DJ asked how long they've been together Larry said: Since last night. We did limbo & dancing & trivia. They had a live band that was incredible. A good night on the beach.
Thu Oct. 27, 2016: We had couples massages at 9 am with Mike, Lana, Kirk & Holly. They have a salt water pool on top of the roof & sauna we used also. It was Mike's 1st massage. He was a little nervous. For lunch we had leftover fish and made fish tacos. We got cilantro & pico de gallo from the bartender and tortillas from the market. We had pictures on the beach at 6, then Romeo & Julieta's Restaurant for Italian dinner. After dinner we grabbed a van for all of us to go back to the resort. The Taxi driver asked where to? and Larry told him "your house!".
Fri: Oct. 28, 2016 Tom and I decided since it was our last day we'd stay at our resort since we hadn't hung out there much. We laid by the pool. Ordered bloody mary's and mudslides and got double as it was happy hour at 10 am. They had a live band all afternoon that was incredible. We took a nap and then Tom was in a Texas Hold em tournament. He won a drink and $100.00 gift cert for the diamond store in our lobby. Everyone came over to pick out their beach pics and then we all went to Tres Isles restaurant for dinner. It was more of a locals restaurant someone told us about. Another amazing meal. We didn't have one bad meal there. We thought we may miss the All Inclusive but really didn't. The only times we missed it was ordering drinks by the pool. They were $14.00 at Grand Solmar and around $10.00 at ours. They did have lots of happy hours tho.
Sat: Oct 29, 2016  Time to pack up. Our flight left at 3 and everyone else 2 hours earlier. I decided I wanted a robe from the spa. So we got one & Tom picked out lotion. I threw it all in the carry on bag & yep the TSA Mexicans got our nice lotion as it was over 3 oz. Not too smart of me. I found the home made boxes like I bought last time in the airport and got the kids each one. A great flight home. Only 2.5 hours.  All in all a great trip.

A few Cabo pics.

View from Presidential Suite.
Catch of the day. 7ft long and 110 lbs.
Within a few little hours this beautiful fish went from the ocean to our plate. It was delicious and Tere & Brenda did a wonderful job. They ran to the store and got potatoes and corn and the most wonderful 3 creme birthday cake I've ever had.

Beach Party night.

Not our favorite beach picture, but it will probably look good in 10 yrs.
