The girls stayed home and played dress up with Miss Kinz.

The Boys went to the Bronco's Game. Den beat Kansas City 27-17. Gavin told everyone he saw with a Bronco shirt on at the airport that he was at the game.

Russian Massages at Izba (iz-ba\:log cabin) Spa

Last year for Christmas we got mom a gift certificate for a Russian Spa Treatment. Lori's boss who is a chiropractor recommended them. Since mom still had it Lori and I decided we would go with her  this week end to celebrate her 80th birthday and to honor Gma Uhrich who was born in Russian. What we requested is called the Flu Prevention Treatment 1 3/4 Hrs.   Here's what we got:
(1) A one hour massage in one small room with all three of us and three male masseus's.
(2) Banya Treatment. After massages we went into the sauna. It was very hot. They sprinkled aromas and water on the hot rocks to open up the pores of our skin. Once we started to perspire he took oak/birch leaves that had been in water and sprinkled the water on us then begin to stroke, brush and tap (or as Lori said spank) us from neck to toes. After this he came in with a bucket of ice cold water and poured it on us from left foot to neck to right foot. At this point we found out Mom is not a screamer, and Lori and I are. We're also wondering what the hell Lori has got us into....Next comes a honey rub to draw out toxins and to soften our skin. Then a shower to get the honey off.
(3)  And the final was a body mask. It had seaweed and mud and smelled like a sushi bar. One more shower and we finished with tea and an orange.
Would we go again? Probably not. The massages were wonderful. We laughed so hard that it was probably the healthiest thing we did and The memories were priceless.
Oh and of course mom got her camera out of the bag to snap a couple memory making pics.

And then it was time to go home already. It was a great trip! Most of the pictures were taken with our Pentax underwater camera. We only got our big camera out a couple of times so the quality of our pictures isn't the best but happy we got some to remember our trip.

Some of our seashells we collected.
The hotels logo imprinted in the sand.
 Coconuts and palm trees everywhere.

 View from our balcony.
The heart shaped rocks and shells we found.
And leaving Cancun. Tom has to take this shot every year.

We had dinner together every night.

 Sunset before dinner.
On our way through the lobby going to dinner again.
Celebrating Ron's 69th birthday and the mariachi band singing to him.
 Japanese Restaurant.
Our last night having dinner together at the resort.

We were in the jungle so we saw lots of creatures.

We saw three snakes total. This one right outside our room.

One sunny day all the iguanas were out sunning themselves. We counted 17 in one spot.

Baby frogs on our steps.

Our big adventure.

One morning we went for a 6am walk the other direction. We were just getting ready to turn back and Mike saw this beautiful beach he thought we had to see. Then Tom saw the abandoned buildings that he wanted to see. As we got closer there was a ladder and in the window and 3 Mexican guys watching us. Just then their pit bull with a broken leg came out to greet us followed by his owner carrying a machete. I thought we were all dead but they were nice and we survived and were happy to return to our safe resort.
