OUR CO VID WEEK # 9999~ WELL IT SEEMS LIKE THAT ANYWAY.....

Actually for being a covid week we did lots of social activities.  Applegates on Wed night and took their little 4 seater razor around the area.  Thurs night Stephane & Doug had us and Don and Alice over for dinner.  Well we ate around 9pm so whatever that is called.  Fri night a sunset cruise with mom and dad.  Saturday we went with Applegates to Knotty Pines Campground above Kamas to visit Ron, Carolyn, Judy, Dave and Earl and Margie and have dinner.  Only catastrophe was Ron fell down the rocks towards the river. I really thought he was dead.  But luckily Tom pulled him up on his feet and he just had cuts and bruises.

Swimming Lessons

Miss B went off the diving board today.
Yesterday after swim lessons I wrapped her up in her towel and there was an earwig on it. She freaked out. So today when papa took her she told him "Papa you have to get me a new towel because the one from the swimming pool has cockroaches."
She also told me yesterday her swimming teachers were "Beautiful"!

Happy 64th Birthday to my favorite guy. "Will you still need me, Will you still feed me When I'm sixty-four.

Miss B teaching Papa how to dance.

Like everything this year Tom's birthday was a little different. Usually we go somewhere or have company.  Today I took the day off, we slept in until 7:30, then stayed in our pj's until noon. Headed to Costco and had mom and dad and chels and shelby over for dinner. Per the birthday boys request I made home made vegetable soup and zucchini bread. Then a ride on Matt's new pontoon boat (can't keep up with the neighbors on that one)  I also made Tom a video of old pictures to the Beatles Song "When I'm 64".   When I was showing it to him I felt like my life was flashing before my eyes.
But what a great life!

Mimi day

Swimming lessons.
Then a nap. Miss B got really mean so I told her to lay down with books until she got nice again. She asked for a drink and a snack and I told her No. When her mom got home she said Mimi made me lay down with nothing to eat or drink except my spit!

Maycee and her parents are here visiting Gma & Gpa.

Maycee met us at swimming lessons, then we stopped to get a snow cone. The girls had a list of things to do and crossed most of them off including fishing, jumping on the tramp and getting in the hot tub.

MIMI DAY 06-17-20

Uncle Gale is here to visit.

Miss B and I went on a golf cart ride and saw her mom cutting the lake weeds. We waved and she didn't see us so I took a picture and text to her : Hi Mom!

Dad & Gale were scheduled to go to Washington DC on the honor guard flight but of course it was cancelled. One of the things they asked is for letters from friends and relatives to open on the airplane. Since we don't know when or if the trip will happen Gale gave Dad all the cards and letters. They were nice.

Mimi Day.

Miss B and I were getting ready for swim lessons and our power went out. Since I dont know how to open the garage door without power gma and gpa came and took us in their golf cart.
After lessons I invited them to lunch and realized I have no power. So skip that. Shelby and I read books and took a nap (which she hasn't done in yrs)  and it was so quiet without electricity.
Tom and I talked more about cashing out stocks out and paying off our rentals. It cant keep going with all these people out of work and covid still spiking, can it?

Mimi Day

Swimming lessons during covid. Include a Mimi ot adult going in the pool as their teachers can not touch them. Gma and gpa came and watched. Shelby was cold and tired after and crawled up on gpas golf cart and almost fell asleep. But right before she said "Swimming lessons were so much fun, werent they Mimi?"  Yep reminded me of being on vacation in the pool, almost.

Mimi Day 06-03-20

almost as good as the ocean. View from our pontoon boat.

When you can't go on vacation, buy the chairs that were at our vacation house in NC last year.
Our renter Mike Parks moved out after 12 years. He was only late paying once and it was when his mom died. When he moved in he told Tom anyone is crazy to buy a home. We figured he paid approx $120,000 to us. So we thank him for paying for our condo, but we're going to miss what a great renter he was!  Nothing except the furnace and ac have been updated since then so Wendell is here helping Tom totally remodel it. New paint, flooring, counter tops and bathtub.
Miss B came over. We went to Arbys and got the boys lunch. The cute counter girl there asked if I'd fill out the survey to help her out. I asked if she got bonus money.  She said no. I told her when I worked at Arbys when I was 16 and we had mystery shoppers and we were paid $5.00 if we did all 5 things correct plus we got free food which they don't. Then I told her well that was almost......50 years ago????  Oh dear.
And there are protests all over the country because a MN policeman killed a black man. They've turned so violent even in SLC and destroying all kind of property and Govt buildings and monuments. So sad.

Memorial Day

so we continued our car shopping today.  I wanted to look at Honda Pilots so we went there and Tom test drove it. Tom said I want you to drive everything while we're looking. Then to KIA to purchase our new car.  The salesman was busy so we went next door and drove a Ford Explorer.  They didn't have the color we wanted. Tom told me you know this is what you want. It's always been your favorite car. So back to KIA to purchase the car. I test drove it and the seat was not very comfortable.  Tom said you should go get the Explorer (at $20,000 more than the Kia) and I said I'd really like to drive that Pilot. So back to it and that's what we bought. (only $10,000 more than the Kia) . UGGG   Anyway I love it. The perfect color and goodies I wanted.  Then home to cook steaks with Mom and Dad that they bought for our anniversary.

Idaho Road Trip~SOMETIMES, THE BEST THERAPY IS A LONG DRIVE, GOOD MUSIC, AND GOOD COMPANY.

We did a quick trip to ID to see our kiddos for the first time in 4 months. It helped we had a brand new Jeep Cherokee rental car. We were there 24 hours and took 3 walks and hung out on the back patio.  They were surprised to see us

Happy Anniversary to us. 44 years and counting......

We shopped for cars all day Fri & Mon and we're still married, so that's a good thing!
We started out looking at used cars at Enterprise Rentals and Ford with Shelby. Hit Costco. When Chels picked her up we headed back into SLC to look at new Kias and Hyundais. Decided on the new Kia because it was the same price as a lot of the used cars and has a great warranty. We did curbside pick up at Red Iguana 2 for dinner.  Aunt Bertha died today also. One of my favorite people. She brought out the best in my mom. I have many memories of going to their house when I was little and everyone played guitars and sang and her laughing and making wonderful food.
Mimi, Take my picture!

I will miss my Aunt Bertha!  ♥

A weird week

It's been a weird week.
Our neighbor Brandon committed suicide. He was an ex Marine and had some depression issues we knew of. Reminds me of a quote when I was in high school "War is not Healthy for Children and Other Living Things" when I wore a POW bracelet my senior year.

After finding out that, Chels was in a car accident. A car pulled in front of her in Stansbury. Her air bag went off and beat her up pretty good. Totaled my favorite car. My champagne color Ford Explorer that Tom surprised me with on Christmas Morning in 2005 with a big bow on it.

Mom's oldest sister Aunt Bertha fell today, went to the hospital, was sent home and fell again. She hasn't woke up since.

Things are opening up slowly. Tom and I got our hair cut this week. And we've been invited to go see our ID kids. So we may take the rental car we have from Insurance and go on a road trip.

Our 44th Anniversary is tomorrow. Hopefully by our 45th  we'll be on a beach somewhere and this corona virus will be gone. Happy I made the decision to choose the right partner to go through this life with.  As mom would say "More Luck than Sense"
