MEMORIAL DAY.

We went to Aladdin with Papa, Doug, Jennifer & Maycee then stopped by the cemetery. When we were ready to leave I told Shelby it was time to go and she said just a minute Mimi I'm praying and she was. I almost starting crying.

The youngest grandchild is kind of like your youngest child.  not as many pictures and  not  as much 1 on 1 time. So today miss B and I went to the zoo. As we're leaving she sees an airplane and says I wanna go on a airplane and I said OK where shall we go? and she said  "well I've never been to Disneyland!". I guess it never hurts to ask.

And I was worried about not having s stroller for her. She ran the whole time and walked/bounced on and off the rocks and had a great time.

ID trip- K had hardware taken out from hip surgery and mimi and papa entertained Liam and Kinzi for the day at Big Al's and the Childrens Museum.

Liam told me he had a bad dream then he woke up and changed the channel in his brain. And
You may be the 3rd child when your Mimi is talking on the phone and Kinzi says can I talk 1st and Liam says "can I say Hi 3rd?"

This week papa and boo perfected oscars tricks to sit, shake, both hands, lay down, and roll lover.

Miss B and Mimi Day

Mimi, What day is it?
Wednesday
Is it Mimi Day?!
yes Shelby.  (So how can I send her to school when she's so excited?)
Mimi, What do you want to be when you grow up?
Hmmmm, haven't thought about that for awhile. Maybe a travel writer. What do you want to be?
A Singer!   And she sang all the way through the stores as we shopped.

silly great grandma and miss b

Mom gave Tom a hug and she shocked him. She told him "See I still have some spark left in me, I'm not dead yet. " and Miss B has been sick and she told me so seriously "Mimi, why is there a tear rolling down my cheek?"

Costco and Costco

It was Mimi Day and Shelby convinced me she should stay home from daycare and go to Costco with us. After Costco she asked "Are we going to the other Costco to?" I decided that was NPS because the last couple times we've taken here to Costco, then NPS shopping. Not today. :( I knew better than to ask Papa. Then she took a little snooze on the way home and that messed up nap time. She was getting pretty onery and I told her "Shelby next time you'll have to go to school so you can get a nap. You can only stay with me on Mimi day if you're good". To which she replied "That's what you said last time Mimi".

Vacation and Stress

My theory has always been I refuse to stress over vacations because I feel lucky when we get to go on vacation. With that said...We booked a week in Mexico and then the Government was shut down for 35 days. So between the air traffic controllers working with no pay and our President talking about building "the wall" we decided to cancel our vacation and lose our deposit. We then booked hotels in St. George and Lake Havasu to go see Wendell and Carole. The day we were supposed to leave on our road trip a snow storm hit hard and more snow was forecast. The thought of driving in the snow both directions did not sound fun. So with much discussion we cancelled that. I was very sad. So I got online and checked out flights to Las Vegas thinking we could drive to AZ from there. They were outrageous. Then I just happened to look at Costco travel at the vacation we cancelled and it was pretty darn reasonable considering we would leave the next morning. The weather forecast was sunny and 85 degrees everyday. So a much shorter vacation, but the nicer resort La Estancia next door. We hurried and packed and woke up the next morning with a kind of "What did we do?" OUR CUTE PHOTOBOMBERS. We had perfect weather and a perfect room. We met Teresa and David Elsie from Niagara Falls Canada and went to dinner two nights with them. We saw a baby turtle trying to get to the ocean. We had 2 beach massages and found lots of sea glass. Sad we didnt get to go to Lake Havasu and celebrate Caroles bday with her but happy we weren't stuck home in the snow.

Shelby-Mom can I go see Grandma Cissy? Chels-Sure, are you missing her? Shelby-No, I just know there's a green binky under her bed. So much for the binky faze being over. SHelby-Mimi, Can I see you tomorrow? It sounded like she was inviting me on a date.

Government shutdown- longest in history

Clay has been working with no pay for over a month. The day it opened back up Kinzi came home from school and was telling her mom & dad about her day. In the background she heard the TV saying they ve opened the government. She said "Hooray the government shut up!" (As opposed to it being shut down for so long.
