Mothers Day 2020

We had a spa day. Chels dyed my hair and cut Grandmas while the boys went on a pontoon boat ride. Then Tom made BBQ Ribs, mashed potatoes and asparagus. And I hugged my momma for the first time in a couple months and told her what a wonderful mom she has always been. I told Chels thanks for dying my hair and she said well I probably caused them so it's the least I can do. ♥♥♥

Mimi Day Fri May 8th

I always ask if she wants to make cookies and she says no. So today after I made a homemade cheesecake and beef enchiladas she asks to make cookies. And not easy cookies. Sugar cookies where we cut them out and add sprinkles. So I had a great idea and got out graham crackers & frosting & sprinkles and she was happy.

Mimi Day 05-06-20

Shelby came over. We went for a walk with Oscar, then took a boat ride and a golf cart ride. She asked me "Mimi, why do you and Papa kiss and my mom and dad never do?"  We told once upon a time they did.

ZOOM

We learned something new today. Clay arranged for all of us to have a family ZOOM Meeting for Lacey's 29th Birthday. We all sang Happy Birthday and talked at once and were happy to be in one place all together. 

Mimi Day 042920 Last full week of Quarantine for now as they're doing a soft opening May 1st.

I told her she had to stick with me and not wander around. So she found a good place.

Tom and I got up early and went to Costco Senior Hour and stocked up again.....Then we came home to get Miss B and headed back in to Oakbridge Greenhouse to get a few plants. They have the most beautiful ones I've seen.
A few things Miss B told us:  We were talking about the temperature outside (around 87) and she told us:    It's 100% Hot.
We got flowers and took one to Mom for Mothers Day.. Shelby hasn't been there in awhile other than across the fence. She hugged Gma and Gma said it is so nice to get a hug again.  Then she hugged Gpa and he said Oh, don't forget about the coronavirus. She said in her sweet little voice. I don't have the coronavirus and besides  We're Family!  That about summed up our day.  XOXO

A hug and a million dollars. That's what Don told me he needed after telling us Alice was in the hospital and they both tested positive for the Covid Virus.

Shelby, Oscar and I went to kravers & got ice cream for us and gma and gpa. 

I had to have a magnolia bush since we went to magnolia farms and it bloomed for the 1st time today. 

Mimi day apr. 15th

Shelby walked in the door and said could my dad come over inside your house. I asked her when we re home? She said Definitely!!!
Then she was playing with Oscar and he grabbed her robe and got a little skin. She cried then got a bandaid. I told her you are going to be a wonderful nurse. No Mimi I dont like blood.  I said "Well what are you going to be?"
 A singer!
And I told Shelby we should go for a walk. She said "Why do we have to walk?" I told her for exercise. She said "I'm out of exercise!" 

Earthquakes Here, Earthquakes There.....

Last night Idaho had an earthquake. 6.5  Clay was at work. Tara and the kids of course at home.
When I was talking to Liam to check on them he told me his version:
"My mom very calmly told all of us kids to come to the art room doorway.  We thought she was going to show us something. Then Kinzi guessed it was an earthquake. She started crying and I put my arm around her and told her it's just like a free roller coaster ride."
Tom asked him if anything broke during the earthquake and Liam said "Only Kinzis heart".

And their PTA posted this on FB:

Quarantine Day - Taught Miss B how to play cards. She thought that was the funnest thing ever!

Tom and Mom....

We've been trying to keep our distance from Mom & Dad with the coronavirus quarantine. I was just taking them groceries or stopping by on the patio to visit keeping my distance.


Then we had a 5.7 earthquake on Wed morning. I thought it was the end of the world. So did they. So we said to heck with this we're going to take our chances and be together.

Of all the things to break in our house , one of my prized possessions. Well DeWayne also got knocked off the shelf but he stayed contained. 

My poor little brown angel is in the fetal position after the earthquake. 

On Fri it was Dad's birthday. I made an executive decision that Chels and the kids should still stay away but Tom and I took dinner and groceries over. Then Sunday we went back for pizza. As we sat down for dinner & started saying our prayers Tom reached out to grab mom's hand. She gave him her pinky finger. We said our prayers and mom took a drink. Just then Tom said " your mom gave me the finger during our prayers."  Well Mom choked on her drink and laughed so hard.
So the moral of the story is if you have to be quarantined it helps to be with people that make you laugh!

Not the worse place in the world to be quarantined to. 

Quick St. George and Mesquite Visit

We stopped by Cousin Karens beautiful house in Mesquite for a quick visit, then to see Ronnie & Patti's new house. They invited us to dinner.

 Clay called and we told him we were heading home from Mesquite. He said "Did you gamble?" and Tom said  "YES, we ate at the casino buffet!!!" 

When one of your besties calls and says her husband died in the middle of the night you do what you gotta do. We made a quick trip to St. George for the funeral and to see her. I took her a Minky blanket for hugs. An animal print one since last time we were together her husband asked her "Honey why do you always buy and wear animal prints?" and we were laughing about it. 

COVID-19

Tom just came home from the grocery store in Tooele.  He said well I think we're OK.
I just saw the Mayor (Debbie Winn) in Lucky's  and she gave me a BIG HUG.  ♥ 

Oh Miss B

Hi mimi. I went fishing with my dad. Did you catch any? No. Well that's a bummer. "Bummers will be Bummers!"
I then told her "I was just getting ready to take a shower."
 "Well I'm here now!  And you don't smell too bad"

And that was our first couple min of her walking in the door. 

Puerto Vallarta

Our last morning. 

Probably should be quarantined here 14 days. CORONA!!!

Clay called after seeing this on Kari's FB and said

"It's all fun and games until someone dies". 

 We even thought that was hilarious.

 Can you tell we're in vacation mode?
