Elizabeth Smart Event

Carole, Kari, Marsha, Carolyn & I went to the Healthy Woman's Event again this year. Every year they have a really great speaker. I learned from Ally on The Biggest Loser "There's a reason orange juice glasses are small~lots of calories" and from Richard Paul Evans "Don't give up your needs for your children's wants".
This year what I will always remember about Elizabeth Smart who told how she was kidnapped at age 14 for 9 months and raped repeatedly by him:  'The best punishment I could give him is to be happy'
And she did look and sound really happy. Amazing how some people can go through Hell and make the best of it. She also said when telling about trying to get her Elizabeth Smart Foundation in every school "The men are the head of the households, but the woman are the necks".
"Nobody is trial-free, but we have a choice," she said. "We can choose to allow our experiences to hold us back, and to not allow us to become great or achieve greatness in this life. Or we can allow our experiences to push us forward, to make us grateful for every day we have and to be all the more thankful for those who are around us."   She was very inspirational.
