Life and times of Mimi Mccarty

-Tom is in a broker chili cook off for the board of realtor party up the canyon tonight.
-there is an accident on exit 99 and I cant get home in time. So I drive all the way to Saratoga springs and make it to settlement  canyon by 5:40.

-Boo and Carson are with Tom and want to fish at the reservoir. So after an hour I go to ck on them and drive them to the party.  Heaven forbid 2 healthy 13 yr olds would have to walk 1.5 miles uphill for dinner. Well they decide they want to keep fishing. As I head back thru the gate  its locked up for the night. No phone service to call Tom.  So I park my car outside the gate and in my sandals I start walking the 1.5 mile uphill in 100 deg weather.  I text tom in case I dont show up due to heart attack or bear or rattlesnake bite that I'm walking to him and I love him. I finally make it back to the pavillion as the party is ending.  Sweaty and red faced.

HELP IM LOST AND TIRED AND HAVE SORE FEET.

And after all that guess who won the grand prize? Me. A tailgate Bar BQ WORTH $200.00 . What a night.

Mimi Days~They get less and less with Boo. But in between him asking for a dirt bike 575 times (and us saying No 576 times) we played in the lake, went frog hunting and took Oscar on a golf card ride/run. And he got to be a kid for a little bit today.

Our week end

Our week end started off a little rough but ended up OK.

Sat morning Tom and & made it to the SLC Farmers Market and Costco & Sam's club. Our must do at least once a summer. We came home & took the golf cart to Soelbergs and got caught in the rain.

The weather cleared up and we took Gavin & Kader on a boat ride all around the lake then they spent the night on the trampoline.  We woke up Sun morning and had a nice relaxing day. Kader went home & we watched Stranger Things & golf with Gav. Tom bought a new electric lawn mower & he & Gav cut the grass. Tom made spaghetti and we had mom & dad for dinner. Then I went on a boat ride with them. And we ended the week end with Tom, Gav & I taking Oscar for a run on the golf course and hitting a couple holes of golf.  #wewillgetthroughthis  ♥  #justbreathe

Royal Creek Ranch Open House in Rush Valley.

Tues Night is Date Night. Movies, popcorn, sometimes dinner and always laughs.

Well my counter says good job you went 8.

5 miles today. Hmmm...I helped tom list his house, walked to mom and dads and home, then boo and I took the golf cart to this new walking trail and to kravers for milk shakes and to papas and to pick up Braden and to papas and to the bank and subway and to papas again. I guess the golf cart counts as cycling? Sweet!!

Mimi Day

Good Mimi Day. Woke up early and took a walk. Boo spent the night and when he woke up he drove me in the golf cart to the produce guy. We made fish tacos from fresh salmon.  Papa came home a little early and worked in his garden. We went to Marta's to pick up a commission ck and to measure how much taller Boo is than Marta, their standing joke.
Then.....we had a 4:30 meeting. Since this is my happy blog I'll only write one conversation from the meeting.
 Me: "I like her."  other person in snarky voice: "You like everyone don't you Pam? "
Me: deep breath, slow, controlled voice, direct eye contact " No, not everyone". 
End of meeting.

MY TEXT TO CHELS B4 THE MEETING AND SHE DID GREAT BY WALKING OUT WHEN SHE NEEDED TO, WITH HER SON.

 We met Chels & Boo at our house and we fished, then Boo drove Papa and I to Kravers for Garlic Burgers & Ice Cream and we stopped by Gma & Gpas.  As we were driving thru the golf course the sprinklers were on. Papa told Boo to dodge them. As he's heading towards them I say "slow down" and Papa says "go fast" and we got slammed with water. We laughed and laughed and that's just what we all needed.

 LIFE IS SHORT. EAT DESSERT FIRST.

 WHOA! HE'S SO PRETTY.

MEMORIAL DAY.

We went to Aladdin with Papa, Doug, Jennifer & Maycee then stopped by the cemetery. When we were ready to leave I told Shelby it was time to go and she said just a minute Mimi I'm praying and she was. I almost starting crying.

The youngest grandchild is kind of like your youngest child.  not as many pictures and  not  as much 1 on 1 time. So today miss B and I went to the zoo. As we're leaving she sees an airplane and says I wanna go on a airplane and I said OK where shall we go? and she said  "well I've never been to Disneyland!". I guess it never hurts to ask.

And I was worried about not having s stroller for her. She ran the whole time and walked/bounced on and off the rocks and had a great time. 

North Carolina

Wed. May 1st. RDU - SLC  we flew into Raleigh. John and Brenda met us at Wilmington Costco with beach chairs and towels for our trip. They shopped with us and visited until it closed. Found our condo in the dark. We like it.
Thu May 2nd  Fort Fisher Civil war museum and state park. Aquarium. Kure Beach Pier and lunch at the Kure Diner. Beach combing in the morning and afternoon.
Fri May 3rd. Fisher Ferry to Southport, the cutest little beach town with colorful old houses. I could live here. We took a tour from Rev who was very informative. Lunch at Fishy Fishys. Great seafood. Wilmington to the NC Battleship and a horse drawn carriage ride of downtown. Ended at Uncle Vinnys Italian restaurant. Amazing food hilarious waitress and lots of leftovers.
Sat may 4th  arts festival. Wrightsville beach
Sun. Met John and Brenda at Oceanic rest in Wrightsville. Big band concert at Kure beach at night.
Mon. Southport again and oak island and ocean isle. Dinner at Freddie's. Pork chops with peaches and pecans and brandy.
Tues beach day then dinner with John and brenda and to see their house.

A perfect spring day. Boo won his football game, then we took his new bike for a ride to Papas bouse and gma and gpas. And ended with a golf cart ride looking for frogs and letting oscar run.

Jacob Thomas Paskvan. 14 yrs old. Today good friends lost their son and good friends lost their grandson. And my heart hurts for them. This is the rainbow as we left the funeral.

She may be her mothers daughter. And what came out of her mouth yesterday: "For the Love of God".

Great win today. 43 - 36 or something like that and Gavs 1st touchdown this year. Plus it was a muddy mess.
