Quiet House

Last night our house was very, very quiet....and I already miss those little kids.
When they were getting ready to leave I was holding Killian and he gave me a giant hug
and told me in his cute little voice: "Mimi, I like being with you."   He was so sincere and it almost made me cry.  Because I love being with him too, and I really wish we lived closer.  If and when life ever
slows down we have a thousand pictures to look through and put a couple on here. Such a great week.

Elf on a Shelf

Killian's Elf on a Shelf jumped in the car and came to UT with them so we had two at our house.
The first morning they pooed on Mimi's countertop. The boys though that was pretty funny until
Aunt Chelsea thought it was a chocolate kiss and plopped it in her mouth. I'm sure a therapist will be hearing about that in the future...
The day Killian left for MT they stopped at a hotel on the way home. The next morning the elf was hanging in the car above Killians head. Killian told Clay "Dad, have you ever noticed my elf had a red line around his neck?  He probably shouldn't have spent the night in the car with all my new dinosaurs!"

Happy Birthday Killian

We went to the State Capitol to have family pictures taken. Then to Gateway to Build A Bear. Gavin didn't get to go to the Planetarium with us as he had basketball. When Killian was marching thru the Planetarium he told me in a sad little voice "all I wanted was to go watch Boo Boo play basketball today". Oh man, that would've been easy.

Utah Health Survey

Last night I got a call from the UT Health Department asking if they could ask a few questions for a survey. Since I've went in and volunteered with them before I said yes.  Well everything was fine and I was feeling pretty healthy (don't smoke, exercise, eat fruit & veggies & beans)  until he asked:
How many times have you drank alcohol in the last month?  I said Seven.
Then the next question; In the those seven days how many drinks did you have per day. At this I just started laughing. I explained well I was on vacation, and I was in Mexico at an all inclusive resort, and the drinks are very watered down, and my answer is 10. He said every day? I said Yep.  Oh man, blew that health survey!

Cancun Vacation with my sister.

After months of planning we're all here. We chose the Live Aqua Resort this year and loved it.

 Our waiter on the beach.

 Swingers Bar

Leon our lifeguard. He also brought us a seashell present one day.

 Morning sunrise from our balcony.

 On our morning walk.

Usually I keep a vacation journal to help me remember our trip. On this trip everyday pretty much consisted of: Wake up at 6am and go on our morning walk, find seashells, pick out our chairs and umbrella on the beach and put our towels on them, eat breakfast, lay on the beach and read, go in the ocean and play and cool off, eat lunch, nap or shopping in the afternoon, go to dinner, in bed by 9:00. Some variations with massages and special lobster dinner, but pretty boring, very relaxing, and a really great vacation.
Our morning breakfast table with a view.

Lori and I on our morning walk. When I returned to the room I was telling Tom that a guy took a picture of us and he said he knew and showed me all these pictures he had zoomed in and took of us from the balcony.

On Monday we took a ferry and rented golf carts on the Isle of Mujeras as I wanted to go photograph the colorful doors.

Sunday, November 18, 2012

Sunday Morning - This morning we woke up like normal at 6am. By 7 we were exhausted and decided to go back to bed. I get the best sleep when I do this, but I have the craziest dreams.
This morning I dreamed my mom had a baby who looked just like Kinzi. I was the only one that thought it was unusual for a 79yr old to have a baby. Ha   My other dream was that someone gave Tom two miniature ponies and he decided to keep them in our backyard for Gavin and Killian. I was not happy with him.
So jump ahead a couple hrs in real life. Tom went golfing and I was left to babysit the new puppy.  I was upstairs walking on my treadmill and came back down and he had tore something to pieces. I was so mad and mom called right then and asked what I was doing. I told her very seriously that I was contemplating if I was going to stay married and put up with a puppy, or get a divorce and have a nice house with no puppy. That s when I remembered my dream. At least I don t have the two miniature ponies to take care, and I don t think I want to re train another husband either. Love you Tommy.....

He loves putting the numbers on santa to countdown to Christmas.

Sunday Evening -  Right on schedule when we're going on vacation this time of year. Tree up and Boo putting the star on the top.

Veterans Day Program and the Election

Boo and Papa at the Veterans Day Assembly at school.

From Tara: After all the hype yesterday about the election, Killian had many questions. After discussing who I was voting for, I asked Killian who he would vote for ( I know he's only 3, but sometimes he has a good perspective on things). He told me "Mommy, I will vote for America". Finally, after all this, the best quote came from a toddler.
Thank you Killian, that's all we really can do.

Gavin and the Dr.

Gavin went to the Dr today at the University of Utah Clinic because he was coughing and not feeling well.  When the Dr came in she asked him "what's bugging you today?".  Chels said he thought for a minute and said "BYU".

Mimi Day ~ Halloween 2012

Before Gavin was born and before Mimi Days' every Wednesday I helped Tom and ran errands and caught up on housework. Now that Gavin is in school I'm starting to get my Wednesdays back.
This morning Tom and I worked in his office and ran errands all morning long just like in the old days.  We went to the Senior Citizens Ctr where we voted early and met some new friends and felt very young. In the afternoon we went to Gavin's Halloween party at school where we felt very old.
I made chili like I have every Halloween for years and we went to Powell's street like we always do. We walked home from there because it was so warm and we needed exercise and we got behind some rowdy teen age boys. They were throwing firecrackers & trash & swearing and being kids. Tom told them there was a trash can close by they could use and then one of them starting singing a song about an old man. Yes, I guess we're old now. But we have to be old to have our grandbabies and we wouldn't trade them for anything in the world. And on a side note; Tom said he could still kick those kids ass if he had to.

Final day in Disneyland

We got up at 6AM to take advantage of our early entry tickets in Disneyland. Gavin was the first awake, jumped in bed with us and said "This is so fun Mimi!"  Made the whole trip worth it.

Boo loved the Autotopia Car Rides. The little oriental guy in the car in front of them was clapping and laughing. One of the employees told Chels he is there everyday!

Mickey Mouse pretzels

So sad we're leaving.

Disneyland~Day 3

We started our day off at California Adventureland at 8am. Thanks to my homework, I jumped in the fastpass line to get a ticket for the new cars ride. Disney has added 12 acres for  it. I was in line for almost a hour and our time to return wasn't until 8 pm. But it was worth the wait. We loved it.

Emery & Avery are in Disneyland too!!!

Boo finally got to swim in the hotel pool as we took a break mid day for  a swim and some rest.

Pretty Lights.

Day 2~Universal Studios

All the fun characters at Universal Studio's.

Boo's favorite store.

The first ride of the day was Jurrasic Park Rapids. So proud of himself that he rode it. The final plunge was 85 feet.

We got woke up by a little boys jumping in bed with us all energized and saying "Let's go back to Disneyland!" But we told him today was Universal Studio's Day. The worse thing about Universal was driving in traffic to and from with a GPS that was taking us all sorts of weird ways because we had it set for "avoid traffic" and didn't know it..

Disneyland Trip~Day One

On the way to the airport for our flight. I changed our airplane tickets 3 times, then we missed our early morning flight. That is a first for us. Luckily there was another one that put us in only 1 hour later.  I also changed our hotel and our rental car twice and I read a book on Disneyland cover to cover on what order to do each ride in the parks. Yep, I did my homework..... which doesn't matter if you miss your flight.

Laguna Beach Looking for seashells.

We hadn't planned on going to Disneyland Wed afternoon, but our tickets were for 3 days so we decided to go ck it out. We got several of the major rides in as it wasn't very busy.

Boo's favorite for today was Buzz Lightyear. We rode it three times.

Haunted Mansion.

We couldn't talk Boo into going on the log ride.

When we got to our hotel that night we decided to get in the hot tub. Gavin was laying in bed, set up and said he wanted to go, then layed back down and said "I can't do it!" and he was out.
