Mimi Day

I hadn't seen Boo or Shelby in two weeks so I was ready for a Mimi Day. Boo had his first basketball game the night before and he did awesome. After he came and gave me a hug and he smelled so good. Flash back from junior high and the roller skating rink. I guess it was his musk deodorant. He asked if he could go home with us and as we were walking to the car he asked me "Mimi, will you please sit in the backseat with me?"  Tom and I laughed. Guess he missed me. He's somewhere between musk cologne and still loving his mimi. I'll just enjoy it as long as I can.

Our morning started about 6am on the balcony  looking at black clouds moving our way
they miraculously moved to the north and missed us.
We went on our morning walk to the far point. Tom swears it was 6 miles (maybe 5). We finally found a few seashells there. After that we needed breakfast and a long nap.  Then pool time where the people watching is incredible. I brought 2 books and haven't opened one. we met holly st. George celebrating her 40th birthday and shooting  everyone with her squirt guns including us that were close by. She said she was in the military and ready to bomb whoever needed it. Scary.  Her gay girlfriend got annoyed and left. Then we met the cutest couple from England in there early 30s sitting next to us all day and visited with them for a long time. World peace in the making....and the guy with the body and the orange neon spandex who Mike told he thought he'd retire and become a porn star down here and the guy told Mike men porno stars don't make any money but girls make bank and started quoting the pay scale.  As he and his girlfriend left the pool area he hugged all the employees and waved to everyone around the pool like they were royalty.  Quite an exit.
Couples massages at 6. So relaxed heading to bed early again.  Another good day. Our week almost over.
Room Service for Breakfast. Yes Please.

Thanksgiving Project 2015

Tom and I helped deliver meals again this year in Tooele thanks to  Denny's for making over 800 meals. Our first delivery was to a trailer and I saw beer cans in the trash. They didn't answer the door or the phone # we had so we took that one back. The 2nd was 11 meals to a Mexican family who could not speak English. They were really happy to see us and had the best smiles. I practiced my Spanish counting to 11 and wanted to tell them we were going to Cancun on Sat, but didn't. The 3rd had a full large bottle of beer sitting in the driveway next to their car. They had a sign on the door that they were in the shower and to leave it on the front porch.(Maybe someone was delivering beer also to go with the meals?)  I told Tom I was not going to judge but I really enjoyed delivering to the little old ladies last year much better than the trailer court. And it was a good day even tho we weren't with family.

We house hunted on Sunday. Thought we found the perfect one, but it wasn't meant to be.

The backyard was fun at this house, but the house was Yuk.
Then we came home and watched the Bronco Game and Grandma brought green chili over.

and Liam fell asleep at the dinner table.

Den Trip-Mom's and Dad's 61st Anniversary

We landed around 12:30 and met mom, dad, lori, tom and lacey at Ted's Montana Grille for a late lunch to celebrate mom and dad's 61st anniversary.

Looking good after being married 61 years.

Then we went to Brenda's art show and saw Tatum and Lana also.
And finally ended up at our kiddos. These two slept with me and we had story time.
Even Clay said this is the cutest book I've ever brought them.

Mimi Day-Shopping at Costco and NPS with these two kidddos and their momma.

"Do you want Santa to bring you a teddy bear for Christmas?"
I'm a shopper...not a big spender but I Love to shop. Chels~not so much. I have days when I'm shopping all alone and see mothers and daughters shopping and I'm kind of sad. So yesterday I convinced Chels and Boo that we should go to Costco and pick up my new glasses and run by NPS to get Batman cotton candy for Killian's birthday party. Neither of them were too excited but Papa threw in a $20.00 bill for Boo and he was on board. And Chels decided she'd like some food from Costco. So it was a fun day, it was an exhausting day. But with a 9 yr old and a 1 yr old lets just say it was challenging. And maybe, just maybe  I should appreciate my shopping time alone. And I also appreciate why it may be easier for Chels to just stay home some days.

The Addams Family Play presented by Stansbury High School. They did an awesome job.

We took Boo and his new step brother Carson to the play Fri night. I used to watch it on TV and loved it. I forgot how much Morticia and Gomez loved each other. There was quite a controversy on the Stansbury FB Page saying it wasn't appropriate for kids. I wish they would look beyond the cuss word and look at the message it was giving.
Love and accepting everyone even tho we're all different.
I saw a quote last week saying "Grandparents love us when we forget to love ourselves". Just this week Chels told me she talked to Grandma and she's always been her biggest cheerleader. And I talked to Dad this morning and he was telling me about Liam and how he makes his heart smile he loves him so much.
And on a totally different note, the LDS church announced this week that children of gay parents can not become members.
Boo has struggled with getting a new step brother and step mom at his Dad's house. But hopefully if we can all try to love one another a little more we'll survive. And as for grandparents: we don't even have to try when it comes to loving our grand babies.

How much is that doggy in the window? How about the cologne?

For today's Mimi Day we went to City Creek. We told Boo how big the trout had grown since he was last there so that convinced him to go. I had bought a summer dress and the store had left the security tag on it plus I bought a sweater with fringe that I decided looked like a tablecloth once I got home so it was returned.  Boo is also starting to like cologne so while in Nordstrom we went to the cologne counter hoping to get samples but all they do now is spray it on a paper and let you smell. We tried several and Boo found one he liked. We looked at the price at it was $65.00 for a small bottle. Boo said NO WAY.  I'm so glad he knows the value of a dollar. Guess we'll be heading to Wal Mart to try their colognes out.
