STANSBURY DAYS 2010

 We tried to have the whole Stansbury experience: Golfing, riding in the parade & passing out candy, frisbees and doggie treats. Then lunch, the beer garden, and fireworks. But Boo was most excited for the frog jumping contest. This was his 3rd year he's been entered in it. He came frog hunting Fri night, caught 6 frogs to share. He came in 5th place then released all his frogs back into the lake with Nonie, Peter & Sammy.
   While walking through the car show we saw our neighbors that live directly across the lake since we moved in 17 yrs ago. Mary and Monte.  When we first moved in they hollered that we didn't live in the city anymore to turn off our motion lights, then he hollered over to turn off our bug zapper that we couldn't kill all the bigs anyway. So Tom being the kindest person in the world,  invited them over for a beer and they said "We've been down that road, no thanks".   Over the years we've said Hi across the lake and Tom has taken over tomatoes. When Joan died they sent a sympathy card and we were surprised. Then Mary's brother who lived with them the past year died and I sent them a sympathy card and I got back the nicest Thank You Card. So when we ran into them Sat at Stansbury Days, Mary hugged me and said I can't believe I've never been this close to you before. It's true, I had never seen her up close. Is that so sad to live that close and be so far away. So that was a good thing that happened at Stanbury Days, along with Boo being so happy and proud of his frogs.

just a little past the airport. He replied "That's nice for when they go on vacation!".  That kids always a thinking.

Mimi Day 081810

Started my day off skyping Baby K. Clay said he pointed to the computer & said Mimi asking if they could skype. He repeated all his ABC's and counted for me. Such a smart baby. When I asked him where his hair was he pointed to the computer screen at mine. Lots of kisses from long distance, makes him seem close by.
Chels & I went to good old NPS and found a few bargains, Boo & I went to Gateway, then back to our house for an afternoon of fishing. One of the neighbors came by & said "He's going to be a really great fisherman when he grows up" to which Boo responded "I already am."  The other Booism of the day is when we were eating dinner: He said "Excuse me Mimi. Is that a turd in your avocados?"  It was the avocado seed to keep it from turning brown. (Brown avocados may be more appetizing than a turd in the middle of it!)
I can always count on Gavin & Killian to make me smile & make me happy. We're so lucky to have them.

The end to a nice week-end. Captain Tom, a bottle of wine, an hour boat ride, and a nice sunset.

Selling Books

Gavin loves to make books to sell. Gma Frances ordered one and he's always asking to set up a table to sell them outside.  Today Chelsea let him. He kept asking "Mom, why isn't anyone stopping to buy a book from me?"

MImi Day 072810 A picnic with Boo and Preston

I asked Boo what he wanted to do for Mimi Day and he said "A picnic with all my friends in Stansbury". So I asked him what he wanted me to buy to eat for the picnic and he said "Mimi, we have to see what they serve."  So  I explained that we bring the food on picnics & I convinced him if he only had one friend we could take the golf cart.  Papa met us on his lunch break, and the boys played on the playground.  Boo was telling me about what he would be doing when he was 10 and 16 and 30 (still fishing at Mimi's he said) and started questioning every kid he saw about how old they were. After several kids Preston told him that was getting on his nerves. The last kid he asked was on a bike and after saying he was 10 ~Boo told him "By the way~you should be wearing a bike helmet!"  Gotta love kids.

Yep, just a little wild, but Tom's the rockhound and LOVE, LOVE, LOVES them! He decided if he was getting the real stuff it wasn't going to be boring! ha   I will need to do a little redecorating.

We stopped by Sweets Candy to pick up some salt water taffy for the McIntyre Family Reunion in PTD. 
The free tour only cost us $17.00 in candy and we gained 3 lbs in samples.  But it was fun.

Another Day, another fish.  I've convinced Boo that Mimi Kisses bring him Good Luck for fishing. So when he caught the first Big Bass  he told Tom "You're not getting enough Mimi kisses!" 

Boo was excited when Papa said they could cut up their hairnets to put bait in for fishing. 

A reminder to Boo... And Killians Word of the Day

Boo & I were at a house Tom just bought & saw a can outside that the previous owners were using as an ashtray, so we threw it away.  I told Boo "We're never going to smoke when we grow up, are we?" and he replied "Mimi, when I get big will you remind me!".  So this is to help me remember to remind him.
As for Killians Word of the Day: Sponge Bob.  Yep, that's an important one and he says it so cute. Made my morning.  (not quite as cute as Boidie (birdie) that he said on Sunday.

Boo's first concert at Red Butte. Brandi Carlile was great! It's the 2nd time we've seen her.

Mimi Day 063010 Boo caught 2 Big Bass all by himself. He's so proud!

Boo & I decided our goal this summer was to visit all the parks in Stansbury Park.  So today we decided to play at five differn't ones.  After the fourth one he said "Mimi, this is kind of boring. Lets go home & go fishing." So we did. I'm not sure why we try to entertain him any other way. It's truly his favorite thing to do.  He told me today "We'll always have Mimi Days and we'll always go fishing, even when I'm 16." 

 I'm going to make him sign a contract stating this!

I got a little packing done today, Boo packed everything he owns,  we're so excited to go see Baby K!!!!

Tom bought himself a new camera for his birthday, so expect LOTS MORE Pictures. Is that possible????
