Sanibel-Thursday

Beach Bums and a little shopping. Doc Fords Restaurant at night and end of Captiva for sunset and champagne toasts. Last night together in Florida. Cute house named ISLE BE BACK.

To busy to do much beach bumming.

Of course we all had pedicures before going. I'm the one on the bottom with the mud on the second toe. I slipped in some mud on our walk to the beach and didn't notice it until after the "photo shoot".

Sanibel-Wed

JN Ding Darling Nat'l Wildlife Refuge in the morning. Antique and Art Gallery Shopping. Long walk in the morning to the lighthouse and long walk in the afternoon with Kari & Leroy the other direction.
Ate lunch at the Bubble Room Restaurant on Captiva Island.

Shells, Shells and more shells.

Sanibel Lighthouse. We walked the beach for a couple miles to get here then called W&C for a ride back because we knew they needed to see the lighthouse also.

Tom picked up this little guy thinking he was dead. About 10 min into our walk he felt little squiggles on his hand so he got thrown back in the sea.

We visited the Chapel by the sea  and the little cemetery next door to it. 

Someone spent more time on the beach and had more talent than us.

The Bubble Room Desserts. This restaurant just made us smile! Lots of old toys, a moving train that goes around and fun stuff from the 30's and 40's. The waiter's were in boy scout uniforms and called bubble scouts.

Thomas Edison & Henry Fords Summer Homes and Gardens. Edison Pinchers seafood restaurant for lunch. Matulacha a little hippy/artsy town shopping. Bowman Beach for sunset.

Sanibel-Monday

We saw dolphins swimming by our condo as we were eating breakfast this morning.
Then Shark Teeth Hunting or "mining" as Leroy called it on Casperson Beach and Sharkey's Restaurant for lunch.

Enjoyed watching this guy make a mermaid in the sand on the beach behind Sharkey's Restaurant.

Sanibel-Sunday

Sanibel Farmers Market in morning. Purchased: FL Grapefruit, oranges, blueberries, watermelon,

corn on the cob, bread, pulled pork, guacamole, chips, etc. Such yummy food to stock our fridge with. Marsha, Gary, Kari, Leroy, Ron & Carolyn came over in the afternoon to see where we lived and we went to Mucky Ducks again on Captiva Island. We had the same waitress Judi. She reminded me of Rosanne Barr. First she pulled a window on wheels over to our table and asked Leroy "Did you say you wanted to sit by the window?".  Then his food was last and he said " Did they have to go catch the grouper?". He didn't know the waitress was right beside him sitting his food down and she just looked at him and said "Shut Up!" Leroy turned so red and we all got a kick out of that.
